About Us

Nick­er­son Stu­dios is made up of Julie and Seth Nick­er­son. We hap­pen to be mar­ried to each other. We live in Wood­bridge, Vir­ginia. Our goal is sim­ple: to make inter­est­ing pho­tos of inter­est­ing people.

We were wed­ded on August 15^th, 2003 and our pho­tographs from that day are some of our most trea­sured pos­ses­sions. We under­stand the excite­ment, details, and over­whelm­ing emo­tions lead­ing up to that big day. We also real­ize now how few of those details we remem­ber clearly, only eight years later.

When­ever pos­si­ble, we shoot all wed­dings and engage­ment ses­sions together. Julie gen­er­ally shoots new­borns, fam­ily por­traits, and senior por­traits alone.

Here are some facts about us:

• We do not actu­ally have a pho­tog­ra­phy studio.
• Our first date con­sisted of going down­town and just tak­ing pic­tures together. Need­less to say, it went well.
• Julie likes to pose peo­ple; Seth is more photojournalistic.
• Vir­tu­ally the only thing we have in com­mon is that we are both inspired by photography.
• We have two small humans cur­rently liv­ing with us. They go by the names Abel and Sage.

Julie likes: coupons, ice cream, putting flow­ery head­bands on babies, blog­ging, lists, help­ing peo­ple in need, spend­ing time with the kids, and high-key black & whites

Seth likes: good design, sand­wiches, the inter­net, the Boston Red Sox, typog­ra­phy, music, rooi­bos tea, Apple prod­ucts, beards, muted col­ors and creamy bokeh.

We pride our­selves on our cre­ativ­ity, old-fashioned crafts­man­ship, and, per­haps most impor­tantly, stel­lar service.
